How often does the Singapore vessel map update?

Vessel positions refresh every three minutes. The arrivals and departures board, weather forecast, and rainfall readings refresh independently, typically every five to ten minutes.

What do the colour, shape, direction, and trail of each vessel marker mean?

Marker colour shows vessel speed: grey means still, amber means under way, and teal means moving fast. Marker shape shows the vessel type category: triangle for container and general cargo ships, circle for tankers, square for bulk and dry cargo, diamond for tugs and service craft, and dot for small craft. A small notch built into the edge of every marker rotates to show the vessel's live heading, and a short fading trail behind moving vessels shows their speed and recent direction of travel. Hover any marker for the vessel's name, type, and speed.
